The third edition of the Qatar Olympic Committee’s Beach Games began at the Katara – Cultural Village yesterday. The popular community event will until March 17.
More than 800 male and female participants from all age groups are taking part in the championship, which includes beach football, volleyball, 3x3 basketball, boxing, karate, swimming go and duathlon.
The Organising Committee has allocated a total QR500,000 for the winners.
On Friday, QOC Secretary-General Jassim bin Rashid al-Buainain and other top officials attended the opening day of the event. This tournament is one of the community events and activities organised by the QOC annually to create awareness of improving physical fitness.
