HE the Speaker of the Shura Council, Hassan bin Abdullah al-Ghanem, met on Wednesday with Vice-President Global Organisation of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC) Dr Fadli Zon.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 2023 parliamentary dialogue, held in Doha on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the UN Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC).
He also met with senior director of the Middle East Programmes at the Atlantic Council William Wechsler, besides a number of experts from the council.
The two meetings dealt with discussing a number of issues related to the efforts of parliamentarians and legislative bodies in supporting the efforts made to implement the UN Convention Against Corruption, and ways to support those efforts.
The two meetings were attended by HE the President of GOPAC Dr Ali bin Fetais al-Marri, a number of members of the Shura Council, and the Secretary-General of the Council.(QNA)
