Qatar National Library, in partnership with Hamad Bin Khalifa University, has announced the launch of its newest cultural initiative, the "Cultural Salon" a platform that promotes dialogue and communication with subject-matter experts, with the aim of creating a positive atmosphere that enriches culture and raises public awareness through a series of periodic events.
The first event, to be held on March 13, will be a discussion about the effects the 2022 FIFA World Cup has had on Qatar and the region.
The session will be moderated by HE President of the Qatar Press Centre, Saad Mohamed al-Rumaihi, and will feature distinguished experts like professor of political science at Hamad Bin Khalifa University Dr Ibrahim Arafat, and broadcaster, sports commentator, and former director of BeIN Sports Ayman Jada.
HE the Minister of State and President of QNL, Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kawari, highlighted the significance of the "Cultural Salon", saying, "We believe that fostering open dialogue and promoting a positive atmosphere that enriches culture and raises public awareness is critical for the development and progress of any society.
"The Cultural Salon will serve as a venue for intellectuals, subject-matter experts, and the public to exchange ideas, share their perspectives, and engage in constructive discussions that can lead to new insights and solutions and cultural enrichment within the community."
This event marks the beginning of a new chapter in cultural activities at the library, as the "Cultural Salon" will host a series of events throughout the year, featuring experts from a variety of fields.
It further aims to support the country's cultural and intellectual scene, providing a platform for diverse voices and perspectives.
It seeks to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where individuals can engage in thoughtful discussions and broaden their knowledge and understanding of the world.(QNA)
