Qatar Chamber first vice chairman Mohamed bin Towar al-Kuwari held a meeting Monday with Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang.
The meeting touched on economic and commercial relations between both countries and the means to enhance them. It also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between both countries’ private sectors in various areas and reviewed the investment climate and opportunities on both sides.
The Vietnamese deputy minister lauded the close relations between both countries. She encouraged Qatari investors to invest in Vietnam, which is offering multiple opportunities in various sectors.
In turn, al-Kuwari said the Qatari private sector is eager to learn about the business and investment opportunities available in Vietnam, noting that Qatar Chamber is encouraging Qatari businessmen to explore the investment environment and opportunities in the Southeast Asian nation.
Citing official figures, al-Kuwari said trade volume between Qatar and Vietnam grew by 33% from QR1.5bn in 2021 to QR2bn last year.
“This reflects the strength of commercial relations between Qatar and Vietnam and the common desire of both countries to boost these relations,” al-Kuwari said.
