One person was killed and two others were injured after a small plane crashed in the US state of New York.
A small single-engine plane crashed into a neighborhood on Long Island in the state, killing one person and seriously injuring two others, who were taken to hospital for treatment, US media quoted local police as saying.
The pilot issued a mayday signal and said there was smoke in the cockpit, the police said.
