The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), the airport security department of the Ministry of Interior, and the National Cyber Security Agency participated in the International Conference on Combating Civil Aviation Security Threats in Marrakesh under the supervision and organisation of the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Arab Civil Aviation Organisation (ACAO).
Qatar's delegation to the conference was headed by Mohamed Faleh al-Hajri, who is in charge of managing the QCAA.
The conference, which was held with the participation of high-level officials in the civil aviation sector of many Middle East and African countries, discussed issues and matters related to best practices to protect civil aviation from various threats such as electronic attacks, drones, chemical and biological attacks, and explosives.
The conference also reviewed how to find effective ways to achieve civil aviation security and enhance its capabilities to confront any type of attack.
It discussed ways to address the risks that it may be exposed to, by adopting modern and advanced methods, in addition to reviewing ways to enhance co-operation and co-ordination between the concerned parties in the aviation security system.
