The President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Cheikh Mohamed el-Ghazouani, has met with a delegation of Qatar Chamber headed by its chairman, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani, on the sidelines of the 5th UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5), which kicked off yesterday at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).
The Mauritanian president commended the brotherly relations between his country and the State of Qatar, pointing out the important role that the private sector plays in economic activity. El-Ghazouani called on the private sector in the two countries to enhance joint co-operation in various fields.
El-Ghazouani called Qatari businesspersons to invest in Mauritania, where many investment opportunities are available in multiple sectors, emphasising his welcome to Qatari investors.
Sheikh Khalifa said the Qatari private sector is keen to identify investment opportunities in Mauritania, especially in industry and agriculture sectors, which many Qatari businesspersons are interested in, stressing the aspirations of many Qatari companies to invest in Mauritania.
