Noura Akremi is a Tunisian television and media personality and fashion influencer based in Doha. Ambitious and acclaimed for her exceptional presentation ability, Noura speaks on her work, achievements and changing trends in an interview, highlighting the importance of establishing a connection with the audience.

You have an exceptionally unique sense of style and fashion, Noura. Where does your style savvy come from, and where do you get your inspiration?
I usually wear outfits that suit me, I have my own taste and never follow other people’s choices. I don’t follow blindly the trends from the runway, but I pick what I like the most and what shows my features in a good way. This is why I always have a unique style, which creates individuality.
My inspiration is related to the simple things that shows my features in a nice way, I like dark colours a lot, I’m not a fan of light colours at all.

When did you start blogging/ social media, and what was your motivation for getting started?
I started my social media accounts in 2013, first it was for a personal use. Then, in 2019, I focused on blogging. My work as a media personality and my meetings with a lot of celebrities and public figures and I cover lots of subjects, lots of clients, all of this held me to be a blogger.

What have been your keys to success?
That’s a good question, the key to success is not a calculation, it’s based on very simple steps, persistence, never giving up. You have to have faith and confidence. Working hard is the key to success.

You’ve done a Shahid film, tell us something about it.
Yes, the film is on Shahid, it’s called *Mourabaa Bermuda, which means 'Bermuda Triangle' in English. I didn’t plan to start my career in acting, it was by chance. I have a lot of connections in Egypt, amongst celebrities and producers. One of my friends is a producer, he proposed to me and gave me the role, to act with Moustafa Khater, he’s a very famous Egyptian actor, and it started like that. I was really surprised because I didn’t know that I have these good skills in acting.

You’re also a winner at the Woman Globe Awards for Best TV Personality - so how did that happen?
Yes, they chose me, their choice of the nominee, was based on their achievements and profiles. Basically, I was chosen for two woman Global Awards for two years. The first one, as the best TV personality, and the second award, as the best entrepreneur. It was a great experience for me, the awards were held in Azerbaijan, where they invited many women from all over the world and they awarded them. I was so happy, and so proud for these awards that were given to me.

You’ve been a host on sports television before making your way into social media — do you think social media is taking over the television somehow now that people have less attention span?
Yes, I’ve been a TV host in Egypt for a few shows. And yes, I think that social media is taking over TV. That’s why we see that most of the TV channels also have social media channels alongside TV, where they cover all their shows.
We don’t have time anymore to watch TV. Personally, I don’t watch TV unless I have a certain show or something specific. Usually, we are all on Netflix, that’s where I spend most of the time, to watch series or movies.
We spend most of our time on social media. So yes, social media is taking over the TV.

Being a social media influencer is a huge responsibility, of being a credible source for so many people. How do you utilise that element?
Yes, being a social media influencer is not an easy thing, you have to gain the confidence of your audience and you should have a certain credibility in all your content.
I never post anything if I’m not sure of it, I choose carefully what I want to focus on, and I highlight things that are beneficial for my audience.
One of the most important things is to have a great relationship and connection with your audience.
