HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad al-Thani, the Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Qatar National Day (QND) celebrations, honoured on Thursday the sponsors of the QND activities in Darb Al Saai 2022. The activities were held under the slogan "Our Unity is the Source of Our Strength", during the period from November 25 to December 18.
HE the Minister appreciated the efforts of the sponsors which contributed to the success of the QND Day activities in Darb Al Saai 2022 since this national occasion represents a great opportunity to highlight our authentic heritage, our national identity, and our rich culture to the whole world, and to explore an important aspect of our honorable history. During the ceremony, held in the House of Wisdom Hall at the ministry's headquarters, HE the Minister honoured representatives of the sponsors: the Social and Sport Contribution Fund, Qatar National Bank, Qatar Energy, Qatar Media Corporation, and Barwa Real Estate Group, Qatar Islamic Bank, and Qatar Airways.
HE the Minister also honoured the sponsors in the "Al Sib" category, namely: Masraf Al Rayan, Abdullah Abdulghani & Brothers Company, Al Hazm Projects, Doha Bank, Vodafone Qatar, Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Company, Qatar Gas Company, Qatar Fuel Company, Qatar Development Bank, United Development Company, and Dolphin Energy Limited.
It is worth noting that the QND activities coincided with Qatar's organization of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and were held at Darb Al Saai in Umm Salal region. About 4,500 heritage, cultural, artistic, sports and entertainment activities were held over the course of 24 days, in the presence of a large number of citizens, residents and World Cup fans of different nationalities.
The events included a rich package of intellectual seminars, poetry evenings, theatrical performances, and visual arts aimed at highlighting Qatari culture, national identity and authentic heritage. (QNA)
