His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani patronised yesterday the 16th Education Excellence Day Award ceremony at Sheraton Doha Hotel.
HE Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah al-Ghanem and a number of sheikhs, ministers and senior state officials and parents of the outstanding students attended the ceremony.
His Highness the Amir honoured the 64 winners of the Education Excellence Award, who are Master's and PhD degree holders, university and secondary school graduates, and outstanding primary and preparatory school students, in addition to the winners in the outstanding teacher and school categories and distinguished scientific research.
A film about the Award and the winners in various categories was screened during the ceremony. Also, the ceremony included a speech by HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Buthaina bint Ali al-Jabr al-Nuaimi and a speech by Lieutenant Farhoud Zayed al-Hajri, winner of the Education Excellence Award in the university student category, on behalf of the outstanding honorees.
His Highness the Amir met with the winners of 16th Education Excellence Day Award, on the sidelines of the award ceremony.
The Amir expressed his delight in meeting the winners and his appreciation of their excellence. The Amir also urged the winners to continue excellence, distinction and creativity in all fields.
For their part, the winners extended their thanks and gratitude to His Highness the Amir for honouring and taking interest in those who are distinguished, his constant support for education, and his admiration of the initiatives and proposals that were suggested during the meeting, which motivate them to accomplish more achievements that will contribute to the renaissance of the country, stressing their quest towards providing the best for the homeland.
