The International Chamber of Commerce Qatar (ICC Qatar) announced that it will be holding a special energy seminar Monday on the Oil and Gas Market for the year 2023.
The seminar titled 'Oil and Gas Market Outlook 2023: Sailing in Volatile Environment' is organised by ICC Qatar in collaboration with Refinitiv, an LSEG Business.
The seminar, to take place at Qatar Chamber's premises, will shed light on the great importance the State of Qatar pays to the production of energy and renewable energy, where it took serious steps towards gradually moving to sustainable, clean energy in line with its National Vision 2030 and its commitment to the Paris Agreement that pledges zero carbon emission by 2050.
Therefore, ICC Qatar, alongside Refinitiv, has come together to deliver this seminar at a time where the State of Qatar shows its significant role in facing the challenges and creating opportunities and developments in the ever-changing landscape of the global Oil and Gas Markets in 2023 and beyond.
As the earth is about 1.1 C warmer than it was in the late 1800s. Companies have committed themselves to more ambitious climate targets aligned with limiting global temperature rise to 1.5 C above pre-industrial levels.
To limit global warming, as called for in the Paris Agreement, GHG emissions need to peak by 2025 and fall by 43% before 2030, according to the latest report by the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). At the same time, carbon dioxide emissions need to reach net zero globally in the early 2050s.
