An earthquake measuring 5.6 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Monday, Malatya, eastern Turkey.
The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said that the epicentre of the earthquake occurred at a depth of 6.96 km below the surface of the earth.
There have been no reports of material damage or human losses due to the earthquake so far.
On Feb 6, a violent earthquake measuring 7.7 magnitude struck south of Turkiye and North Syria, followed by another 7.6-magnitude quake and thousands of violent shocks, killing tens of thousands of people and leaving massive destruction in the two countries.
