Qatar University (QU) has announced that the Fifth Youth Research Forum 2023 would kick off next month under the theme 'High education institutions and their role in achieving sustainable development goals', in co-operation with the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science.
The forum to be held on March 8-9 will bring together researchers, innovators and students to highlight their scientific research and innovations.
In June last year, the forum’s three axes and sub-topics for each were announced, the QU said, highlighting that the forum committee, consisting of a group of professors from QU, reviews research abstracts and research posters and accepts what conforms to the specifications and conditions of the forum.
The number of accepted research abstracts and posters reached about 280, and research is being evaluated for display in the Fifth Youth Research Forum 2023, the QU said.
QU vice-president for Research and Graduate Studies Prof Mariam al-Maadeed stated that the forum is an opportunity for competition between young scholars to engage, to network, and to explore new avenues for collaboration as well as to instill creativity, dedication, and commitment to advancing knowledge.
Qatar University Young Scientists Centre director Prof Noora al-Thani said that the forum aims to achieve the vision of the strategic plan for scientific research at the university, which seeks leadership and creativity in scientific research, and seeks to highlight the programmes, initiatives, and opportunities available to support scientific research and researchers from within the university and outside.
