Managing Director of Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) Dr. Mariam Abdulmalik affirmed PHCCs' commitment to improving the quality of health care provided to all members of the society, and reducing waiting time for patients, noting that the recent opening of a number of new health care centers represents a major investment in the well-being of society.

In a statement on Saturday, Dr. Abdulmalik said that the new centers play an important role in meeting the healthcare needs of the areas in which they are located, adding that these new facilities have enabled PHCC to provide more services, especially for children, to meet their needs with the provision of highly experienced medical care providers.

She pointed out that with a focus on prevention, early detection, management of health conditions, and improving access to primary care, a comprehensive approach to health will be provided, which will lead to enhancing the health of the population. She stressed that the expansion buildings of health centers played a role in allocating some centers for Qataris only, which gave citizens an opportunity to receive appropriate medical care.

Dr. Abdulmalik indicated that investment in healthcare infrastructure aims to improve access to healthcare services, reduce waiting time, and improve the quality of care provided by providing modern, well-equipped facilities staffed by highly trained healthcare professionals.

Recently, PHCC opened three new health centers: Al Khor, Al Mashaf, and Umm Al Seneem, bringing the number of health centers across the country to 30. The opening of the new health centers had a significant impact on the development of health care, which helped relieve pressure on current healthcare facilities.

The PHCC health centers are located in strategic locations, facilitating the access of community members to high-quality health care services, as the centers are equipped with the latest medical equipment, and have professionals trained to provide a wide range of services, which include primary care, specialty care, diagnostic services, and preventive care.
