Education Above All (EAA) has partnered with Valentino, one of the jewellery industry’s leading names, in addition to three Qatari designers -- Al Ghala Jewellery, Ghand Jewellery and Hessa Jewels -- to create limited-edition collections for each individual brand. The jewellery, designed with a purpose, are for sale at the ongoing Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) with the proceedings being donated to EAA’s ‘Educate a Child’ (EAC) initiative that looks to support children’s education worldwide.
The exclusive collection from Valentino includes three exquisite Classic Valentino pieces, each embellished with the EAC logo (shaped like a child’s silhouette) in crystal, metal or pearl. The collection includes: 10 iconic Swarovski-embellished Valentino ‘V’ bracelets, complete with EAC logo; 10 classic Valentino ‘V’ Swarovski logo earrings, designed with a dangling charm, the EAC logo; 10 Valentino ‘V’ leather bracelets, adorned with Swarovski crystals and EAC logo.
Al Ghala Jewellery is presenting two unique custom pieces designed with the EAA logo; an 18K gold brooch and 18K gold ring, both embedded with emeralds and diamonds. Ghand Jewellery is also showcasing two custom pieces at this year’s DJWE; an 18K gold unisex bracelet with semi-precious stones that represent EAA’s brand colours and logo, as well as men’s cuff-links with 14gm of 925 Sterling Silver.
Hessa Jewels, is displaying a special necklace with the EAA logo made with 7gm of gold, as well as a 12gm gold necklace called ‘Al-Marash’ that also features 0.50 carat of diamonds. EAC is a global programme of the foundation. The initiative works with 65 partners in 50 countries around the world, to provide vital support and mentorship to more than 14.4mn out-of-school children. In the past, EAA has collaborated with other luxury brands such as Chopard, Richard Mille and Hermes to showcase unique designer collections at the DJWE to help achieve UN Sustainable Development Goals.
With more than 500 brands showcasing their work, an extensive range of pieces from international and local designers are on display at the 19th edition of DJWE which concludes tomorrow (Saturday) at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre. New to this year’s exhibition is a range of premium experiences at the concourse area of the DECC including iconic cafes from the Qatar Duty Free -- Harrod’s Tea Rooms and Venchi, Phillips, a leading global platform for buying and selling 20th and 21st century art and design and a purpose-built studio to host inspiring talks.
