A new earthquake measuring 5.2 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Fars province in southwest Iran on Wednesday.
The Iranian Seismological Centre affiliated with the Institute of Geophysics at Tehran University stated that the earthquake occurred in the village of Deraz, 113 km northwest of Bandar Abbas in southern Iran, at a depth of 11 km, the Iranian news agency (IRNA) reported.
There were no reports of casualties or damage caused by the earthquake.
A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck Laristan in Iran's Fars province yesterday.
Iran is occasionally subjected to earthquakes of varying intensity due to its location above major faults.
