The celebration said it all. Ghanim Nasser al-Qadi raised his arms aloft after steering his stallion Morocco to the finish line for his biggest win of his career at HH The Amir Sword Festival at the Qatar Equestrian Federation’s Outdoor Arena on Saturday.
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani presented the gleaming Amir Sword to al-Qadi, who also took home a car for his victory in the Big Tour class. The 21-year-old al-Qadi and his 15-year-old horse Morocco had on Friday won 145cm class and they were on fire yesterday too. The pair stopped the clocks at 59.53 secs and 52.25 secs, conceding four errors in the two rounds respectively.
“The biggest prize of this victory is getting the award from the His Highness the Amir. It is a great honour for me to win HH The Amir Sword title. I am delighted with my win,” al-Qadi said after winning the event.
