Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (AFAD) said Thursday that the death toll from the two massive earthquakes that jolted southeastern Turkey last week rose to 36,187 people.
The AFAD said in a statement that 108,068 were injured, and that 216,347 people have been evacuated from the quake-hit regions so far.
More than 253,000 search and rescue personnel are currently working in the field, the AFAD said in the statement.
