The Education Above All (EAA) Foundation and its partners will organise a Ramadan ‘Goals4Good’ tournament on March 10 with a football and art competition to support selected projects to help the world’s most vulnerable and marginalised children. A total of 36 schools in Qatar will participate.
The event will take place at Doha College, from 12noon to 8pm. The schools will compete in three age categories (10-12, 13-15, 16-18) in football for both boys and girls. The winner in each group will play in knockoff stages. The winning team will receive a trophy and certificates of appreciation. There will be also medals and prizes for Best Player, Best Goal and Best Goalkeeper.
The winners of the art competition with the theme “The Classroom of Tomorrow” will also be announced on March 10. Those who want to take part, can use any form of artwork to express the theme. The entries will be judged primarily on how well the theme is expressed, as well as colour, neatness, and creativity. The competitors will be divided into two categories (juniors - 9 to 13 years) and (seniors - 14 to 18 years). Schools have to submit the art work into the competition by February 28.
There will also be a showcase section for children with different abilities during the tournament. The event will also have a fun carnival with games for the whole family.
The event is in line with EAA’s commitment to its sustainability objectives, Quality Education for All (SDG,4), Good Health and Well-Being (SDG3), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG17). There will also be a strong emphasis on developing future leaders of Qatar’s student community.
Private corporates can participate in various sponsorship categories starting from QR5,000 to QR100,000 for various visibility and awareness opportunities for their organisations during the event while supporting the cause of education for marginalised and impoverished children and promoting good health and leadership among students in Qatar.
All sponsorship funds will be used for education projects. Private corporations can sponsor a school team and will be given an exclusive branded sponsor kit by EAA. Football fans can buy tickets on EAA’s website and the ticket income will fund EAA projects.
The “Goals 4 Good” Ramadan 2023 Campaign will continue to support EAA’s projects across the world with a specific focus on supporting children in Myanmar, Zanzibar, Somalia, Sudan, Mali, Cambodia Together Project, Assalam Schools in Qatar, Rota Programme, Project Youth Volunteers for Training and Development and Al Fakhoora Access to higher education in Gaza.
