The Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) yesterday announced a new partnership with Al Hazm, who will sponsor the feature race of the HH The Amir Sword Festival 2023, the HH The Amir Sword race (Gr1 PA) for Purebred Arabians on Saturday.
Al Hazm will also sponsor the Qatar Arabian World Cup race (Gr1 Pa), which takes place in Paris every year. The sponsorship of the HH The Amir Sword race and the Qatar Arabian World Cup race will run for five years until 2027. This sponsorship is an extension of the partnership, which has existed between QREC and Al Hazm for 13 years, reflecting the extent of co-operation between the two parties and their aspiration to achieve more successes, especially as the previous sponsorship contributed to supporting many of the races organised by QREC over the years.
Speaking about the announcement of this sponsorship, QREC Chairman Issa bin Mohamed al-Mohannadi said: “The partnership between QREC and Al Hazm has been existing over the years and is now extended until 2027. It will not be limited to sponsoring the HH The Amir Sword race, but will also involve the Qatar Arabian World Cup race, which is held in Paris every year as part of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe weekend.
“I would like to thank Mr Mohamed Abdul Karim al-Emadi, CEO of Al Emadi Real Estate Enterprises Company and Al Hazm for his continued and growing co-operation with QREC as demonstrated by keenness to participate in our most prestigious events. From our side, we have completed all the organisational arrangements for hosting the Festival to produce this prestigious event in a manner befitting its stature and the standing of Qatar’s horse racing,” he said.
Mohamed Abdul Karim al-Emadi, CEO of Al Emadi Real Estate Enterprises Company and Al Hazm, said: “Sponsoring QREC’s activities is not new to Al Emadi Real Estate Enterprises Company and Al Hazm. We always seek to be the first to support and contribute to QREC’s various racing events out of our sense of national responsibility and our commitment to fulfil such responsibility.”
“Al Hazm sponsored several QREC racing events in previous years both at home and abroad. The new development in this Agreement with QREC is that, in addition to continuing our role as the sponsor of the HH The Amir Sword race, we will also sponsor the prestigious Qatar Arabian World Cup in Paris for five years. We are very proud of this development as it enhances our collaboration with QREC and the scale of the races they organise annually whether at Al Rayyan or at the World’s top racecourses, such as ParisLongchamp, which is the home of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe weekend,” he said.
“We wish all horses and their connections all the best in the races of the HH The Amir Sword Festival over three days at QREC. Al Hazm’s sponsorship of the HH The Amir Sword race is driven by our commitment and sense of national duty towards supporting sports in general and horse racing in particular. It is a great honour for Al Hazm to be again partners in the Festival and the greatest honour and privilege for us is certainly to shake hands with the His Highness the Amir at the end of the Festival, which we expect to be a huge success as it has always been over the years. We look forward to continuing the co-operation with QREC to take Qatar’s horse racing to new heights,” said al-Emadi.
