His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and President of the friendly French Republic Emmanuel Macron held a bilateral meeting at Elysee Palace Wednesday.
The meeting discussed friendship and co-operation relations between the two countries and means to enhance and develop them in all fields.
The meeting also discussed several issues of common concern, the foremost of which is the international relief efforts in Syria and Turkiye to address the consequences of the devastating earthquakes, in addition to the latest regional and international developments, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

Amir highlights Qatar-France

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday stressed Qatar's close strategic relations with France. Following is an unofficial translation of a tweet by His Highness the Amir in this regard: "We have close strategic relations with France that are constantly growing thanks to our common desire to support and strengthen them in various fields for the benefit of our two countries, and our visit today to France is the best proof of that."
His Highness the Amir has concluded the working visit to France, during which he was accompanied by an official delegation.
Earlier, Qatar's ambassador to France Sheikh Ali bin Jassim al-Thani stressed that the working visit of His Highness the Amir to Paris reflects the strength of the strategic relations between Qatar and France, and the special importance His Highness the Amir attaches to developing the relations with the friendly French Republic.
He said the talks between His Highness the Amir and the French president affirm the determination of both countries to promote the strategic relations, and refer to the joint accomplishments and rapid development in bilateral relations across all fields. With new opportunities ahead for the bilateral relations, the two sides are ready to exert joint efforts to upgrade the partnership to a new level, he noted.
In a related report, QNA said His Highness the Amir's visit reflects the success of the two sides in forming and building solid relations based on mutual respect, common interests and co-operation in all fields to secure a better future for the present and coming generations.
"The talks will establish a new phase of co-operation and co-ordination relations between the two countries. These talks are of great importance due to the successive international developments at more than one level and the fluctuations in energy, raw materials and food markets, which require high-level communication and consultation between the two countries, especially at a time when Qatar plays a prominent role in resolving international disputes and mitigating crises in many parts of the world.
"His Highness the Amir's visit and the talks during the visit are expected to open new fields for their growth and prosperity in the interest of the two friendly countries and their people, in a way that serves the peace, security, and stability in the region and the world," the report added.
