On the occasion of the Qatar National Sport Day (NSD), Mowasalat (Karwa) organised various sporting activities and events for its employees.
The events were held at the company’s headquarters and in the new bus depots, which are part of the company’s legacy of Qatar 2022.
In line with the collaboration between Mowasalat (Karwa) and the Ministry of Transport (MoT), the company’s employees also participated in the sports events held by the MoT in Lusail, which witnessed a great turnout of both employees and their families.
Driven by the importance of sport, Mowasalat (Karwa) always strives to achieve the best welfare levels amongst its staff. The company encourages all employees to practice sports and adopt a healthy lifestyle through continuously organising various competitions, as well as cultural and social activities all year round, a press statement noted.
Over the past years, Mowasalat (Karwa) has developed sports facilities and equipment at all its depots, including gyms, jogging tracks, and indoor and outdoor arenas for various games.
Fahad Saad al-Qahtani, Mowasalat (Karwa) CEO, said: “The Sport Day reflects Qatar’s vision to promoting sports as a main pillar of investment in human capital. The NSD activities are a key motivator for raising awareness of the importance of sport in our lives as individuals and as a society. It favourably affects the physical and psychological health of our employees. This reflects positively on our performance and the quality of services provided by the company.”
This year’s Sport Day activities were held on a large scale and with full capacity. Karwa employees were keen to participate with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. To facilitate full attendance, Mowasalat (Karwa) provided shuttle buses for employees to and from the competition venues and bus depots across Doha.
The events included many sports and games, including the yearly marathon, in addition to football, basketball and volleyball tournaments and other fun activities. At the end of the event, the management honoured the winning teams and individual champions in an award ceremony in the presence of high-level company officials.
