The Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) has prepared a special programme plan to cover the National Sport Day (NSD) events through its affiliated channels and radio stations Tuesday.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency, the CEO of the Qatar Media Corporation HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Thani bin Khalid al-Thani said the media coverage would be comprehensive and diversified, in line with the NSD objectives, with channels and radio stations having been provided with all the requirements for a purposeful and exceptional plan.
The distinguished coverage of NSD stems from the belief in the role of the media in spreading awareness of the importance of sport and the need to adopt it as a daily behaviour, as well as highlighting the developmental and cultural dimensions of the decision of Qatar's rational leadership to organise the Sport Day, and the unique and pioneering Qatari experience that benefits the world, he said.
Qatar TV will cover the NSD activities, which are being held under the slogan 'The Choice is Yours'. The coverage from 8am until 3pm will include interviews with physicians to discuss the importance of sports and its role in preventing chronic diseases and changing the lifestyle of the elderly who practise sports, as well as the role of the family in instilling a culture of exercise, and the diversity of sports hobbies.
A team of presenters, correspondents and photographers will cover the various sporting events and activities taking place in the country, particularly at Katara, Lusail Boulevard, Al Bidda Park, Aspire, Old Doha Port, Lusail Marina Promenade, Oxygen Park and others.
Qatar Radio will air an open broadcast from 8am to 4pm, which will include interviews with specialists in nutrition, sports and mental health.
The Spanish-language Hola Qatar Radio, French-language ORYX Radio, and English-language QBS Radio will air live all the NSD activities from Aspire Park and Banana Island Resort.
