- talabat 2022 Qatar Donation report showcases over QR4.3mn donations in Qatar via in-app
Commenting on the announcement, talabat Qatar managing director Francisco Miguel De Sousa said: “We are deeply grateful to our customers, charity partners and teams for continuously supporting us in our mission to give back to the community. This generosity is a reflection of the ethos of the country and its people in prioritising selfless giving and community wellbeing."
talabat has been supporting charities for several years in Qatar, beginning with its longest-standing partner QC since December 2019 - which was the first-ever virtual charity partnership in Qatar and the first charity across talabat markets to go live. Early last year, talabat Qatar teamed up with QC, to launch the #TechForGood campaign during Ramadan, raising an estimated QR400,000 in just one month.
The company also partnered with QRCS to support various QRCS-led charitable initiatives through its #TechForGood programme. Under this three-month collaboration, more than QR600,000 was raised, with QR370,000 during the Holy Month of Ramadan alone.
Later in 2022, talabat worked with EAA on a back-to-school campaign themed ‘Be the Change.’ With the aim to increase access to quality education for underprivileged children, the campaign saw talabat Qatar donate QR1 to EAA each time customers ordered from select restaurants on the app. talabat also gave away several items from talabat Mart to students from disadvantaged backgrounds at Al Salam schools in Doha.
To play its part in advancing breast cancer awareness, talabat rolled out its Pinktober campaign jointly with QCS, selling pink cancer pins on talabat Mart. The Pinktober campaign recorded more than QR52,000 in charitable funds, and all proceeds were given to QCS.
talabat customers can donate to QRCS, QC, QCS and EAA in various denominations using the app. Customers can download the talabat application through the iOS App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei App Gallery.
