The Minister for Development Co-operation and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Finland Ville Skinnari underlined the depth of relations between his country and the State of Qatar, noting that the coming period will witness the continued development of bilateral relations, especially in commerce and tourism, which will grow in both directions between Finland and Qatar.
In remarks to QNA, the minister stressed that the mutual opening of embassies between Doha and Helsinki reflects the depth of bilateral relations and their growth in many fields.
The Finnish Minister for Development Co-operation and Foreign Trade also praised the State of Qatar's role in promoting the gas industry globally, and in securing clean energy for consumers all over the world, pointing out that renewable energy is a fertile field for enhancing bilateral co-operation, especially with the private sector.
He pointed out that operating three flights by the Finnish airline Finnair to Scandinavian countries will serve both tourist destinations in Finland and Qatar.
The Finnish minister reviewed investment opportunities in his country, from green technology (environmentally friendly), all the way to innovative solutions' transition models, stressing that Finland will do its best to encourage small and medium-sized companies in the country to get in contact with Qatari companies in order for them to benefit from the mutual exchange of experience and expertise in the field.
He pointed out that the investment climate in Finland has a stable regulatory environment that helps the launching of projects, in addition to providing an easy access to European markets.
He added that in Finland, it takes no more than half an hour to set up a company, noting that the corporate tax rate is fixed at 20%.
On the other hand, the Minister for Development Co-operation and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Finland praised Nokia's co-operation with telecom operators in the State of Qatar during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 by offering wide-ranging services to companies that provide 5G technologies.
