Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Culture and a number of Qatari publishing houses, will participate in the 27th edition of Muscat International Book Fair, slated for Feb 22 to Mar 4.
The Ministry of Culture said in a statement yesterday that the participation in the book fair aims to present Qatari intellectual production to a wide audience and to showcase progress of the publishing industry in Qatar.
The Ministry also seeks to enhance its presence in international book fairs, being an opportunity to spread Qatari books, support Qatari writers and authors, in addition to enhancing cooperation, exchanging experiences and building relationships with others in the field of culture and the publishing industry.
A number of Qatari publishing houses are participating in the book fair, such as: Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press, Dar Rosa, Dar Al Watad and the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies.
Muscat International Book Fair is a major cultural platform for publishers, distributors and authors from inside and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
