MES Indian School, Abu Hamour Branch (MESIS), annual sports meet-Infinito 22 concluded recently.
The event commenced with football matches in December 2022, followed by basketball, badminton, table tennis and finally track and field competitions.
Chief guest Hamad al-Shaiba (former Qatar athlete and FIFA youth programme manager) inaugurated the event. MESIS sports director Abdul Fattah and Qatar women's cricket team manager and International Cricket Council umpire Shivani Mishra were the guests of honour.
MESIS vice president Khaleel A P, cultural and co-curricular activities director M C Mohamed and Islamic Affairs director Faisal Mayan were present. Officiating principal Pramila Kannan welcomed the gathering. Head boy Akshit Saravanan and sports captain Haripriya led the athletes’ march past. Another highlight of the opening ceremony was the torch relay in which the best athletes of the school took part to light the flame of the torch (Olympic).
Emerald House won the track events, field champion trophy and the overall championship trophy. Topaz House and Sapphire House bagged the second and third positions, respectively. Abdul Fattah distributed medals and trophies to the winners.
