The stadiums and the facilities will remain a witness to the great value that sport enjoys in Qatar, until it has become a way of life through its practice all over the world, when the different regions during the Sport Day turn into open stadiums, as has been the case since the first edition that came in response to the Amiri Resolution No 80 of 2011, which stipulated that the second Tuesday of February of every year will be a National Sport Day, during which all kinds of sports were practised, in an unprecedented gesture unique to Qatar, which was a destination for millions of fans, and the focus of the world’s attention during the World Cup.
The 2023 Sport Day coincides with the lifting of restrictions that were imposed in recent years due to the (Covid-19) pandemic, which did not discourage Qatar from preserving the unique annual tradition, the matter that makes the 12th edition a celebration of overcoming the pandemic, thanks to the great efforts made by the State in co-operation with various institutions of society.
The Ministry of Sports and Youth is expected to hold a press conference to announce the logo for the current edition of the Sport Day, in addition to revealing all the activities and events that will be held this year and their specific locations, including all sports facilities, stadiums and parks of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 that were built on the basis of sustainability and legacy, which is the main pillar from which the Delivery and Legacy Committee started in the construction of stadiums and infrastructure in accordance with Qatar Vision 2030, as well as all the various facilities, stadiums, areas and gyms available in the country.
