General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority (GRSIA) is participating in the 53rd meeting of the permanent technical committee for civil retirement and social security bodies in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which is hosted by the State of Kuwait from Feb 6 to 8, 2023.
The delegation of the authority is headed by the director of the contributor's department, Ali Abdullah Al Kuwari, in the presence of members of the Technical Committee at the meeting, which includes on its agenda fifteen items, most notably of which are the procedures binding employers to pay contributions, statistical indicators to apply the unified system for extending insurance protection, the challenges related to the payment of subscriptions with banks, and the challenges of the initiative of the work plan of the committee of heads of civil retirement and social insurance agencies.
The meeting will discuss several other initiatives, including the review and update of the unified system for extending insurance protection, updating a comparative study of civil retirement and social insurance systems, the electronic link initiative between civil retirement and social insurance agencies and the unified annual awareness campaign, training and rehabilitation, coordination and participation in international events, and the development of collection mechanisms.
The meeting will also review the challenges related to the payment of subscriptions with banks, and periodic seminars initiative. The meeting also discussed some proposals such as the award of civil pension and social insurance funds for scientific research and honouring leading figures in the field of civil pension and social insurance, in addition to topics submitted by member states.
It is to be mentioned that the meeting of the technical committee for civil retirement and social security bodies in the GCC is held periodically among the GCC member states, and its works are of great importance. It solidifies the common vision and the essential procedures that are put before the meeting of the GCC heads of the civil retirement and social insurance agencies to take the appropriate decisions.
