The Private Education Sector of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) hosted the first meeting of the 'Care and Education' programme for private nurseries, with the participation of representatives from private nurseries, parents, ministry staff, and the local community. The programme aims to strengthen the partnership between the ministry and private nurseries, as well as provide an opportunity for creativity and innovation in the nursery stage, highlighting applied practices and exchanging experiences related to the implementation of the programme.
Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs Omar Abdulaziz al-Nama emphasised the importance of the meeting, which aims to shed light on nursery as the first stage in children's lives, and represents the first years of forming children's personalities and understanding of the environment around them. He also highlighted that the impact of this stage is clear in preparing children and developing their life skills. He also praised the role played by private nurseries in Qatar in supporting parents during the upbringing of their children, developing their skills, and building their social relations, language, and communication skills.
According to Dr Rania Mohamed, Director of the Nursery Department, the purpose of the meeting of the programme, one of the nursery management initiatives for this year and the following years, is to review the practices currently being used in the nursery stage. She continued by saying that Qatar places a high priority on the advancement of education to realise one of the pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030 regarding human development, beginning with the kindergarten stage, which is particularly significant as it serves as the foundation for developing the child's personality, giving him the fundamental skills he needs, and preparing him for school as well as socially, psychologically, and cognitively.
