The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has shared safety tips on the "safe use of space heaters, risk of using coal and wood indoors for heating and performing regular maintenance of water heaters" while advising the public to follow the instructions. “Avoid lighting a fire indoors for heating. Burning wood and coal leads to the emission of toxic carbon monoxide, which causes suffocation and choking,” the advisory said. The advisory asked the users of space heaters to connect them directly to the socket and not plug other devices into the same outlet. “Ensure their validity. Keep them away from combustible materials such as clothes. Don’t operate them for long without disconnecting them from the power supply,” MoI said.
