Qatar Chamber discussed cooperation and coordination on Wednesday for establishing a joint business council with the Senegalese Export Promotion Agency.
This came during a meeting that brought together Qatar Chamber First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari and General Manager of the Senegalese Export Promotion Agency, Zahra Lyane Thiam Diop, and her accompanying delegation.
Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari said that Qatari businessmen are interested to learn about the available opportunities in Senegal, stressing that there is a great interest in enhancing cooperation with the Senegalese private sector in several sectors like agriculture, industry, mining, and others.
"Senegal is a promising investment destination," he affirmed.
He also confirmed the Chamber's keenness to cooperate with the Senegalese side to upgrade commercial relations between the private sector in both countries, noting that both sides have a common desire to sign an agreement between the Qatar Chamber and the National Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Senegal to boost cooperation and establish a joint business council that will pave the way for further cooperation and trade partnerships between them and develop the two countries trade volume.
For her part, Zahra Lyane Thiam Diop praised the close relations between both countries, stressing that these relations witnessed considerable development, especially in light of the mutual interest in increasing trade cooperation and taking advantage of the potential both two countries own.
She noted that the objective of her visit to Qatar is for learning about the economic sectors, foremost of which is the agricultural sector and other sectors related to it.
She underlined that the mutual visits between both sides would help in promoting trade cooperation and introducing investment opportunities available in both countries, noting that Qatar is witnessing significant growth at all levels, and it is a good destination for investments.
