Katara – the Cultural Village has announced the launch of the 3rd Katara International Exhibition for Kahraman from February 10-13, with the participation of several Arab and foreign countries, international associations and organisations that specialise in amber, distributed in 75 pavilions and exhibit platforms.
Katara general manager Prof Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti said that the exhibition has become a favourite destination for amber traders from all over the world.
He said that the festival returns in its 3rd edition with the same strength as in its first edition in January 2019, after it was suspended for two years because of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
Al-Sulaiti noted that Katara has allocated a permanent headquarters for amber and organises training workshops under the supervision of international experts.
A laboratory for quality examination was established to examine everything related to quality, in co-operation and co-ordination with international institutions that specialise in amber.
Director of Katara International Exhibition for Kahraman, Khalid Abdulrahim al-Sayed, said that the exhibition will see the participation of countries well-known for amber, or interested in its trade, including Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Germany and Turkiye, as well as Arab countries.
The exhibition will feature a wide variety of valuable exhibits, such as artefacts, and amber stones.
This exhibition is the second largest international exhibition related to amber after the one held in Poland.
