The 9th International Conference on Translation and Problems of Interculturalisation, which was organized by the Forum for Arab and International Relations, concluded Sunday in Doha.
The second and final day of the conference saw two sessions, the first of which discussed the problems of translating philosophical concepts, while the second discussed the existing translations of religious texts and the need for re-translating them.
A number of papers were presented during the fist session, where speakers touched on several topics such as translating the concepts of language philosophy; the conflict of paradigms; translation prospects; translating some contemporary Western philosophical concepts into Arabic and creative translation.
Meanwhile, papers presented during the second session discussed topics like poetic and doctrinal errors in translating Hadiths; difficulties and errors in translating the Quranic text into the Romanian language; translation methodology in transferring modern works into the Turkish language and the problems of translating the Islamic jurisprudential texts and the necessity of imposing scientific oversight on it.
Over two days, the conference discussed a number of axes, the most important of which were issues of Arabic-Turkish translation; personal translation and translation digitisation.
