Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein underscored the importance of convening the joint Iraqi-Moroccan committee and deepening political consultation between the two countries.
This came after a session of closed talks with his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, who is visiting Baghdad.
The Iraqi foreign minister affirmed that the relationship with Morocco would witness a new generation of diplomatic interaction.
He added that Morocco's move to open its embassy in Baghdad would be a starting point for a partnership in line with their historical relations.
For his part, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita stressed the importance of stimulating the economic relationship between the two countries, overcoming difficulties in accordance with legal frameworks, and finding mechanisms to confirm diplomatic mobility between the two countries through the consultation mechanism.
The Moroccan Foreign Minister arrived Saturday morning in Baghdad on an official visit.
