The Sidra fruit and Honey fair started at Al Mazroua yard at Umm Salal Central Market on Thursday. Organised by the Ministry of Municipality's Agricultural Affairs Department, the fair will run until February 4. The opening ceremony was attended by Ahmed Salem al-Yafei, head of Agricultural Extension and Services Department at the Ministry, a number of farm owners, representatives of companies and several visitors. Al-Yafei said 15 farms are showcasing Sidra fruit products and 10 farms various types of honey. The fair is organised with the aim of supporting Qatari farms and attract the public to the yards for local produce. The fair is held from 7am to 2pm.
