Qatar Press Center held a meeting of its board of directors on Monday at its headquarters, where a number of topics were discussed and the plan for the upcoming period and the activities and events schedule were approved.
Accordingly, the board approved the appointment of Faisal Abdulhameed al-Mudahka as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Qatar Press Center and Sheikha al-Khater as coordinator. Faisal al-Mudahka is the Editor-in-Chief of Gulf Times.
The board thanked Abdullah bin Hamad al-Athba, the former director general of the center, for the efforts he exerted throughout his tenure.
Further, the board approved a number of events and seminars that would include various media, cultural and intellectual activities which could attract a broad segment of the society.
The center had launched its first series of forums on September 11, 2022 during which it discussed the real motives behind the foreign media campaign against the World Cup Qatar 2022 . It was attended by a remarkable audience of interested parties.
The center is to host an important forum in cooperation with the Media Development Department at Qatar Media Corporation that will be presented by Dr Abdulla Alshayji, Professor of Political Science at Kuwait University. It is scheduled for January 31 at the headquarters of the centre.
It was also decided to hold a number of training courses and honour some key figures of the Qatari media as well. The board also discussed the launch of competitions in cooperation with the local media to give an active platform for gifted Qataris in the field to express their skills.
