A 5.1-magnitude earthquake hit Monday the South Sandwich Islands, a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic Ocean.
According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km.
There have been no reports of material damage or human losses caused by the earthquake.
At the beginning of January, an earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit the South Sandwich Islands at a depth of 40 km.
