Waseef, a leading real estate management and marketing company, has said the Al Khor Workers' Sports Complex expansion project has achieved a high occupancy rate.
A statement from the company said the occupancy rate in the expansion project has crossed 99% with the housing units being leased to national companies operating in various economic and service sectors, in line with Waseef’s business strategy that aims to manage and operate real estate projects that improve the quality of life for all categories of expatriate workers.
This is achieved by providing housing units with high specifications and suitable rents and in areas close to their work while meeting all their requirements, the statement noted.
The project, which has a capacity of 3,000 workers, is located in the Al Khor Industrial Area and extends over an area of 69,757sqm. It includes 516 one- and two-room apartments, in addition to a hypermarket with an area of 7,962sqm, and a multipurpose hall with an area of 300sqm.
The project also includes the necessary infrastructure such as a sub-electricity station and internal roads, as well as services such as water, electricity, sewage, irrigation, communications, surveillance cameras, parking lots and pump rooms.
The project, which aims to raise the standard of living for workers by providing integrated recreational and sports facilities, includes four cricket pitches, four football grounds, three volleyball courts, four basketball courts and four kabaddi courts. These are in addition to two outdoor cinemas and a mosque along with various public services. The project's sports facilities are also used on several occasions by several government agencies and private companies.
The commercial facilities of the project include 22 commercial stores with small areas with an occupancy rate of about 32% in addition to 13 commercial stores with large areas with an occupancy rate of approximately 31%. Also, there is a supermarket rented to a retail entity. Waseef manages the multi-use hall, as it is rented to companies whose workers and employees live amidst the project and have a desire to provide a variety of activities.
In addition, security guard service is available while security and emergency systems are monitored on an ongoing basis. Maintenance services for all facilities, systems and buildings are available while cleaning services are also provided. All of these services aim to ensure the provision of the best possible environment for workers benefiting from the project.
Wassef added that the continuous work by the relevant government agencies to provide international quality roads in the city of Al Khor, and link them to the main highways in its neighbourhood, have helped the project get connected to many important facilities and vital main roads.
This provides flexible traffic for residents living in the project, in addition to easy access to many vital areas and facilities in all regions of the country in an easy, fast and safe manner.
