There are chances of rain in Qatar from this evening until the end of the week, the Met department has said. "It is expected that the cloud amount will increase across the country on Sunday with chances of light rain by Sunday evening," the weather office said in a report.
The rain is expected to intensify tomorrow, becoming light to moderate and affecting some of the eastern coastal areas. It will continue in different periods until the end of the week, and may become thundery at times, the forecast says. The winds will be northeasterly-northwesterly, ranging from light to moderate in speed, and become strong during thundery rain. The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (Met department) has appealed to everyone to be careful and follow all safety instructions during thundery rain.
It has also urged them to obtain information from official sources and not to be led by rumours and unofficial social media accounts. Sunday's detailed forecast says poor visibility is expected in some places in the early hours of the day due to misty and foggy conditions. It will also be partly cloudy and there is a chance of light rain by the evening, while cold conditions are likely by night. Visibility may drop to 2km or less in some places at first. The forecast for offshore areas says partly cloudy conditions are expected and there is a possibility of scattered rain. The temperature, meanwhile, is expected to range from 16-22C in Doha Sunday.
