The Ministry of Culture, represented by the Department of Heritage and Identity, will participate in the 13th session of the Sharjah International Traditional Crafts Forum (SITCF), which starts Wednesday.
Seventeen Arab and foreign countries will participate in the two-day forum, which is being held under the slogan 'Carpet and Textile'. Head of the Department of Heritage and Identity, Abdulaziz al-Mutawa, said Qatar will present its experience in preserving and developing traditional Bedouin Al Sadu weavings, adding that some Al Sadu pieces and heritage books issued by the Ministry of Culture will also go on display during the forum.
The forum contributes to enhancing awareness of the Gulf, Arab and international heritage by educating people about various elements and components of heritage and working to preserve them, al-Mutawa said.
