Qatar Charity (QC) implemented more than 350 humanitarian and development projects in Kosovo last year, benefiting more than 70,000 people, it was announced Tuesday.
More than 140 wells were dug, and 148 projects implemented in the field of economic empowerment and food security. More than 54 projects were implemented in education, health, and social housing, in addition to eight in the relief field.
Last year, QC continued the sponsorship of 3,600 people, including orphans, students, people with special needs, and poor families. It trained more than 400 students on different linguistic and IT skills through its ‘Qatar Training Centre’.
Besides, QC began implementing qualitative development projects, which include an Islamic centre in the Lipljan municipality, and an emergency centre in the Podujeve municipality, in addition to a health centre in the Gjilan municipality.
QC has implemented all its development and humanitarian projects with a high level of co-ordination with the authorities concerned in Kosovo through the conclusion of more than 20 executive agreements. The increase in QC's programmes for Kosovo exceeded 25% in 2022 compared to 2021.
QC has been working in Kosovo for 22 years in the development and humanitarian fields. It signed more than 150 agreements with the authorities concerned in the country and was highly praised for the impact of various projects.
