Minister of Social Development in the Palestinian government Ahmed Majdalani announced Tuesday that the fifth and final installment of the second phase of the cash assistance programme for children in the Gaza Strip, funded by the EU Humanitarian Aid, will be disbursed Wednesday.
Minister of Social Development in the Palestinian government said that the programme includes five monthly payments, targeting 4,350 children belonging to 1,068 poor and marginalised families registered in the Ministry's database, which were affected by the Israeli aggressive escalation on the Gaza Strip in May, as the payment amounted to 1,200,000 shekels.
The Ministry of Social Development and UNICEF emphasised the importance of the programme in terms of mitigating the impact of the crisis, as it will enable children from poor and marginalised families in the Gaza Strip to meet their basic needs.
