The competitions of Haddad Al Tahadi (where the falcon has to hunt a homing pigeon within certain standards) category kept the spectators and participants spellbound at the ongoing 14th edition of Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival (Marmi 2023) Friday.
Two falcons qualified during the forenoon and one falcon made the cut in the afternoon session. So far, a total of 45 falcons have qualified for the next rounds. Saturday, the spectators are set to enjoy an exceptional time of excitement and entertainment as the finals of Al Tala'a (release of the falcons to hunt) will be held among the four qualifiers with one of them set to be crowned a champion of the tournament. Haddad Al Tahadi competitions will continue in the morning and afternoon sessions so as to compensate for the rounds postponed due to the rains last week. Marmi 2023, organised by Al Qannas Qatari Society at Sabkhat Marmi the Sealine Area, under the patronage of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani, will continue until January 28, drawing more local, regional and international attention as one of the major festivals in its category, pioneered by Qatar to maintain and develop such heritage traditional sport.
