Al-Tala’a Championship held its semi-final qualifiers Thursday morning within the ongoing 14th edition of Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival (Marmi 2023), under the patronage of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani and organised by Al Qannas Qatari Society at Sabkhat Marmi in the Sealine Area.
Four participants qualified for the final, and the Supreme Organising Committee of the International Marmi Festival announced that the final will take place tomorrow (Saturday). Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Ali, chairman of Al-Tala’a (release of the falcons to hunt) Committee, and the judges said a total of 24 elite falcons featured in the semi-finals, out of as many as 220 in the qualifiers.
In parallel, yesterday morning (Thursday) the competitions of the Hadad Al Tahadi (where the falcon has to hunt a homing pigeon within set seconds) Championship for the fifth group were held. They were postponed from an earlier time due to the rain.
Six falconers qualified in this group, and the falcons defeated Abdullah Fakhro's carrier pigeons. Three winners qualified in the tenth group, which was conducted during the afternoon. Thus, with the competitions of the fifth and tenth groups held yesterday, the number of finalists went up to 42 winners.
Today (Friday), the Hadad Al Tahadi tournament for the 11th group will be held during the forenoon, and that of the 12th group during the afternoon.
