HE Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kawari, Minister of State and President of Qatar National Library (QNL), welcomed Dr Nabhan al-Harrasi, President of the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information (AFLI), to QNL, on Wednesday. They discussed future collaborations and the exchange of knowledge and information between QNL and the AFLI, a statement said. Dr al-Harrasi presented an honorary gift to the QNL for its support and contribution to enhancing the efforts of the AFLI and its various initiatives to exchange knowledge and resources with library and information experts and other partners in the library and information sector in the Arab world. The AFLI, founded in Tunisia in 1986, is considered the leading Arab body representing the interests of the library profession and people who rely on libraries and information professionals. It is considered the biggest vocational organisation in the Arab world in the library and information field. As part of its mission to preserve the nation's and the region's heritage, QNL will continue to invest time and effort into sharing knowledge and empowering future generations across Qatar and beyond, the statement added.
