The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) is looking at creative ways to implement activities as part of its efforts to enhance the national identity and Qatari culture in private schools and kindergartens.
Accordingly, the ministry - represented by the private schools and nurseries academic sector - held a remote panel discussion in both English and Arabic to explore creativity in the implementation of value-based activities.
The discussion, which came as part of the second phase of the 'My Values Draw My Identity' initiative for private schools' principals and supervisers in charge of executing the project, discussed the mechanisms of implementing the targeted activities in a creative manner. The panel also discussed issues such as furnishing reports supported with evidence of implementing the said activities, present keynotes and the recommendations of private schools and kindergartens, as well as relevant distinguished practices as means of exchanging expertise and spreading a spirit of competitiveness, the official Qatar News Agency reported.
The MoEHE had launched the 'My Values Draw My Identity' project in the 2021-2022 academic year to enhance the national identity and Qatari culture in private schools and kindergartens.
Arabic language guidance consultant and acting director of the private schools and nurseries academic sector, Intisar al-Muhannadi, commended the role and enthusiasm of all private schools and kindergartens in activating the project's values, which was launched in the 2021-2022 academic year by implementing various activities for different school age groups through the 'My Values Draw My Identity' project. She also noted the efforts of private schools during the first semester of the 2022-2023 academic year.
In her speech marking the occasion, al-Muhannadi talked about the quality of the activities and competitions that targeted the largest possible segment of private school and kindergarten students, which contributed to building educational values and enhancing positive behaviours through interesting contents that included awareness, educational and cultural components. She stressed the importance of motivating students and for the school community to trigger their creativity and enable them to acquire values that reflect in their behaviour and interaction with others.
The 'My Values Draw My Identity' project targets school students, teachers, school leadership, supervisers and parents. It is based on strengthening the spirit of belonging and loyalty to preserve the principles and authentic values of Qatar, and enlightening school community groups about the importance of the Arabic language as an identity for individuals in the Qatari society.
