The Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) has released the 106th issue of the 'Qatar Monthly Statistics' bulletin, highlighting the most important statistical changes that occurred in the country during November 2022.
Among the prominent changes is a monthly decrease in the number of traffic violations by 41.9% compared to October 2022, as well as annually by 40.8% compared to November 2021.
Speeding (radar) violations saw the highest decrease among all violations, with a monthly change of 48.2% and an annual drop of 54.5%, according to the PSA data.
Traffic accidents, on the other hand, registered an annual increase in November 2022 while dropping marginally compared to the previous month.
A total of 866 traffic cases were recorded during November, showing a monthly decrease of 1.6% but an annual rise of 15.8%. Minor injuries accounted for most
traffic accident cases during the same month, with 92%, followed by severe injuries with 6%. Also, 21 deaths were recorded, equivalent to 2% of the total traffic accident cases.
Meanwhile, the demographic statistics revealed that the total population of Qatar had increased from 2.69mn in November 2021 to 2.89mn in November 2022.
Regarding vital statistics, the bulletin said 2,436 live births were registered during November 2022. There was a decrease in the total number of Qatari live births by 5.8% compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 226 deaths were recorded during the same period, an increase of 2.3% compared to October 2022.
Moreover, November 2022 witnessed a monthly decrease of 25.9% and 54.5% in the number of marriage contracts and divorce certificates, respectively, compared to the previous month. The total number of marriage contracts reached 260, while there were 95 cases of divorce certificates.
Social security statements reached QR77mn in November 2022 for 14,074 beneficiaries, recording a monthly increase of 1.6% in terms of the value of social
security and a monthly rise of 0.7% in the number of beneficiaries.
