The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) held the second periodic meeting for the male and female managers of public schools (boys and girls) for the academic year 2022-2023.
Organised by the educational affairs sector in co-operation with Training and Development Centre and Schools Evaluation Department, the meeting was attended by 230 managers, along with academic representatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs Maha Zayed al-Ruwaili lauded the resounding success made by the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and considered it a model in terms of its applicability that is suitable for schools.
She called on all school workers to co-operate for standardising their plans and making concerted efforts towards the promised objectives of educational programmes, along with the education quality at all levels, whether evaluation and tests levels, academic achievement for students or development of the student character in the academic guidance, as well as safeguarding the national and Islamic identity.
The educational affairs sector is ready to support managers of schools in their work, she said, stressing the importance of guiding the students towards choosing the academic tracks that are appropriate and relevant for the labour market.
Al-Ruwaili also talked about the importance of providing the constant vocational development for the teachers through the individual efforts offered by the school internally, or through sharing the expertise with other schools.
She said that the education ministry will soon issue the circulars pertaining to the timeline and details of registering the students in the public schools for the upcoming academic year 2023-2024, in addition to a series of beneficial educational programmes.
Director of Early Years Education at the ministry Maryam Ali AlNesef al-Boainain said that the strategic objectives of a programme to be launched are to convert the schools into beacons of knowledge, provision of high quality and safe academic experiences for all students and empower the persons with special needs in pursuit of instilling the feeling of an active, self-educated, self-confident, citizen who is aware of his abilities.
She added that such objectives will help students contribute to their community.
For her part, Director of the Educational Guidance Department Maryam Noman al-Emadi spoke of a programme that intends to develop and promote education to high levels and standards to achieve Qatar National Vision 2030, along with the education ministry's vision that aims to provide permanent and innovative learning opportunity to the Qatari community, pointing out that the programme seeks to refine the student's skills to be an actor in serving his country.
Director of Educational Training and Development Centre Eman al-Mohannadi reviewed the fields that should be developed to have a successful educational programme, the important of which is the role undertaken by the teachers in students' learning process and skills of teachers.
This is in addition to achieve the training system, design and implementation, stressing on the importance of establishing communities for vocational learning in order to empower the teachers and school leaders in Qatar to proceed with the innovation and apply the new techniques and initiatives through organising periodic forums between teachers and school leaders.
