Portuguese Coach Bruno Miguel Pinheiro expressed his happiness at Qatar's victory over Kuwait 2-0 in the first round of the second group matches in the 25th Arab Gulf Cup (Gulf 25), which Iraq will host until Jan 19.
Pinheiro said in the press conference after the match that the source of his happiness is the result, performance and morale that the team got by leading its group.
He explained that the victory was of great importance to the national team players, some of whom are participating for the first time in this tournament.
He added that the match was not easy for the players who faced a strong and organised team that imposed pressure on them at the beginning of the match, but they were more close and coherent until they turned the matter in their favour, pointing out that the Kuwaiti team imposed a pressing method at the beginning of the match, but Qatar's players held on well.
He said that this generation of players needs more successes for the future, stressing that their good start in the tournament will have a good impact on showing their best in the coming matches.
